FAQs

If you have any questions not listed here, please feel free to reach out to us! We are happy to help :)

Can I bring a plus one?

The venue has limited space. We are only able to accommodate guests formally invited on your invitation. If you received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP.

Can I bring my children to the wedding?

Due to capacity constraints we are keeping our celebration adults-only. Thank you for understanding!

What is the dress code?

Welcome Party: "Italian Chic" / Garden Party - Think 'smart' or 'festive casual' attire. For the Wedding Day: Black Tie Optional - Gowns or cocktail dresses, Tuxedo or suit. Farewell Dinner: Casual. Women's shoes: we recommend a block heel for all days as we will often be standing on grass or gravel

Will the wedding take place outside or inside?

All events will take place outside, weather permitting

What is the visa I need to travel to Italy?

As of 2025, all of our guests will require a visa issued by the EU in order to enter Italy. These must be purchased prior to your departure. Please follow this link for more information and to apply for one: https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias/what-etias_en

When should I plan on arriving in and leaving Italy?

We have our venue booked from Tuesday, September 30th to Friday, October 3rd. Due to the time difference, we recommend flying in a day or two before so you can get acclimated. We check out of the venue on the morning of the 3rd, so after that you are free to enjoy the rest of your vacation or fly home. Please see our 'Things to Do' tab for our recommendations on places to visit during your trip!

What if I can’t attend all of the wedding festivities?

We completely understand! We know it might be hard to take time away from work, family, and other obligations for three days of wedding activities. We are so grateful to everyone who is willing and able to travel to Italy for our wedding, and will cherish all of the time we’re able to spend with our guests. When RSVPing, we would ask that our guests indicate which of the three days of events they plan on attending so we can coordinate all of the logistics with our vendors.

The TLDR on travel

We recommend flying into Milan (MXP) or Rome (FCO) and taking a train to Florence or Siena and renting a car from there. Alternatively you can fly into any European city and connect into Florence. Having a rental car will be helpful for sightseeing the morning of the wedding or the day after. If you are trying to avoid renting a car, you can arrange a private car/taxi service to/from Florence/Siena and the venue, and carpool to sightsee on these days! More details on travel below.

Where should I fly into?

There are three main options we recommend flying into: Rome, Milan or Florence. The airports in Rome (FCO) or Milan (MXP) typically have more options flying from the US. The other options are flying into Pisa (PSA) or Florence (FLR), which likely require a connection. Florence is the closest city with an airport to our wedding venue.

How do I get around in Tuscany?

We highly recommend renting a car. You do not need any special drivers license. A shuttle will be provided between the wedding venue and Dama della Vigna and Borgo de Brandi for all three events.

Is there parking available onsite?

There is a parking lot available onsite at Borgo Stomennano.

How do I get from the airport to my hotel? (General)

1) Rental car: We highly recommend renting a car at your arrival airport. It is a ~3hr drive from Rome and 1 hour drive from Florence to the venue. We don't recommend driving from Milan airport unless you are making a stop along the way. 2) Train then taxi/rental car: Alternatively, you can book a train from Rome, Milan, Florence (or other large cities in Italy) to Siena, the nearest 'large' city to our venue. From there, a taxi or rental car can take you to your hotel (~20 min). 3) Bus then taxi: There are busses that run from all major airports to Siena where you can hire a taxi to get to your hotel.

How do I get from Florence to Siena? (If no rental car)

There are trains and buses that run between Florence and Siena several times a day and most trips take about 1.5 hours. If you choose to take the train or bus, there are taxis located outside of the Siena train station (Stazione di Siena) and bus station (Piazza Gramsci) that can take you to your accommodation in Siena - taxis should cost approximately €15. The main train station in Florence is called Santa Maria Novella (SMN) and the main bus station is the SITA bus station, which is located across the street from the front of the train station. You can also rent a car or take a car service if you would prefer.

How do I get from Rome to Siena? (If no rental car)

If you fly into Rome and would like to spend a day in Florence before going to Siena, there are direct, high speed trains between Rome and Florence which take approximately 1.5 hours and typically cost less than €50. The Le Frecce high-speed train tickets can be purchased online from TrenItalia or in person at the train station. Train tickets between Florence and Siena can be purchased online from TrenItalia. These trains take approximately 1.5 hours and cost between €10-15. If you would like to travel from Rome to Siena directly without spending a day in Florence, you can take a train between the two cities that take between 3.5-4.5 hours. Depending on the ticket you purchase, these tickets cost approximately €20 - €60 per person and will require you to transfer trains at one or two stations. These tickets can also be purchased from TrenItalia.

Taxis

There are no taxis or Ubers in the Monteriggioni area. The closest town with taxis is Siena, which is about 20 min away.
